I’ve moved. Again. The kitchen in the new place is, well…um, cozy.

Cooking this year will be interesting. It is not the best kitchen I’ve had. Actually, it’s the smallest and has the worst appliances. And yet, I love it. I’m living alone for the first time ever and the entire kitchen is MINE. I organized the cabinets and fridge the way I want. If it’s my desires to make french toast at 3 am, I can. Plus, I don’t have to feel guilty about leaving the dishes in the sink until the morning. It’s pure bliss.

Then I thought about all of my apartment kitchens and how they have changed over the years. Some were better than others but I’ve managed with all of them, and this year will be no different. And with that, I bring you: CoSkay’s Kitchen’s throughout the years:

2004-2006: The College Years

My first *real* apartment in college. For a college apartment it was pretty swanky…check out that chandelier!

Summer 2005: The Apartment I barely lived in

During Summer 2005, I was interning as an analyst in investment banking. I was living in a NYU dorm. I had no kitchen supplies. Let’s be honest. I didn’t eat a single meal in the apt, hell, I was never there. That said, it was pretty darn nice.

2006-2008: Living the Dream, NYC

My NYC apartment after college was great. Despite my shoe-box room, I loved it. The kitchen was open to the living room and it got a TON of light. I apologize, the best picture of the kitchen has me cooking pigs-in-a-blanket (not really the most culinary advanced thing, but oh so good). The kitchen had more counter space (not shown), a dishwasher and all new appliances.

2008-2009: Business College (aka first year of the MBA)

I can’t complain too much about this kitchen. It was huge (as you can see). Sadly, there was no dishwasher and the fridge opened the wrong way (I never bothered to fix it). It was pretty unmemorable.

Summer 2009: California Dreamin’

My favorite kitchen yet. If only I had it for longer than three months! It was huge and had great appliances. Additionally, it had large windows that overlooked the massive backyard and garden. Doesn’t really get any better.

There you have it. All the locations I’ve done my mixin’ and fixin’ for the last five years. Wish me luck with my new place!
